Oak View Mall Fall 2026 Events: Your Millard Calendar Guide

October 8, 2026

From the third week of October through Thanksgiving weekend, most of Millard's community calendar sits at one address. Oak View Mall at 3001 S. 144th St. hosts a trick-or-treat night, a supercar trunk-or-treat, a two-day harvest market, a Halloween maker market and a two-day holiday market. That is five events in a building that had a vacant Sears and an empty former Younkers space as recently as this spring.

This is no accident of the calendar. The mall's tenant mix has been moving toward family entertainment and local owners for close to three years, and the fall event lineup grows out of that shift.

The Parking Lot Season Is Over

From April through September, the Millard Makers Market was a monthly outdoor event. Local Makers Collective ran it on the last Saturday of each month in the Oak View parking lot, with local vendors, games, bounce houses, music and giveaways. Admission was free. Oh My! Omaha places it in the southeast lot near the food court entrance and lists a season running into October, so the two sources give different end months.

What remains of the series this fall is two special editions, and neither one is on a regular Saturday afternoon. The Trick or Treat: Millard Makers Market is on Friday, October 30, from 5 to 9 p.m., with vendors, music, games, bounce houses and trick-or-treating for kids. After that, the organizers move indoors for SHOP OMAHA: Holiday Market on November 28 and 29, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. according to the organizer. Oh My! Omaha lists a 5 p.m. close, so check the time again as the weekend gets closer.

So the market keeps going after its outdoor season ends. It moves to an evening slot and then indoors, and the building has enough going on inside to support that.

Nine Days in Late October

The busiest stretch of the season runs from Thursday, October 22, through Friday, October 30. Here is the run in order:

  1. Thursday, October 22, 4 to 7 p.m. Trick or Treat at Oak View Mall, listed on the mall's own calendar.
  2. Friday, October 23, 5 to 8 p.m. Trunk OR Treat Supercars for A Cause, also on the mall calendar.
  3. Saturday and Sunday, October 24 and 25. The Autumn Harvest Market. A participating vendor, BioSphere LLC, lists it for 4 to 11 p.m. both days and describes it as a free vendor show with free parking. The mall's calendar shows no events on those dates, though its upcoming-events banner includes an autumn graphic, so check with the organizer before you plan an evening around it.
  4. Friday, October 30, 5 to 9 p.m. The Local Makers Collective night market, its Halloween edition, which the mall lists as well.

There are two separate trick-or-treat events, one on October 22 and one on October 30. They are run by different organizers, and they fall eight days apart.

The mall's regular hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. Individual stores set their own hours. The October 23 trunk-or-treat ends at the mall's 8 p.m. Friday close. The October 30 night market runs an hour past it, until 9 p.m.

Why the Building Can Carry This Calendar

Today's calendar traces back to December 2023. That month, KETV reported that Felix Reznick's 4th Dimension Properties had taken control of Oak View Mall. Reznick had co-owned the property with Kohan Retail Investment Group. He talked about building community use around the food court and adding entertainment, including mini golf and attractions for children, and he described a mall that would become more child-focused.

The leases since then follow that description:

  • Hair Kare 'N' Beauty, a woman-owned salon that offers custom wigs, hair weaves, makeup and beauty supplies, opened in March 2025.
  • The Brunch Box, the second location of the downtown breakfast-and-lunch restaurant, started its full menu in the food court on June 2, 2025.
  • G1fted Barbershop, owned locally by Wellson Yusif, planned a September 2, 2025 opening near the food court and JCPenney.
  • Kidlavie, an indoor amusement park for ages 1 through 12 with a full restaurant, opened in April 2026 in a 22,000-square-foot space on the second level.
  • Aivera, a locally owned boutique that sells handbags, jewelry, candles, wallets, gifts and seasonal home décor, had opened by late September 2026. Its grand opening celebration is scheduled for Sunday, October 11.

The location of Kidlavie shows how the building is changing. Grow Omaha reported that it sits between the vacant Sears store and the former Rush Market. Rush Market had used the old Younkers space since 2019 and announced its Oak View closure in October 2024. None of the reporting found so far names a replacement for that footprint. A family entertainment tenant filling the space between two large dark anchors is the child-focused plan from 2023, now built.

National retail is still leaving. Bath & Body Works closed its Oak View store permanently, and January 24, 2026 was its last day of business. The mall's online directory still lists the store, so treat it as a list of names. It doesn't confirm that a store is open. The directory still lists Dillard's and JCPenney as anchors.

Together, these changes explain the October calendar. A building that has a kids' amusement park, a brunch spot in the food court, a barbershop and local boutiques can hold a weeknight trick-or-treat and a Friday night market. A mall built mainly around department stores would struggle to.

The School Gyms Take the Saturday Mornings

The mall mostly holds weeknight and Friday evening events. Millard's two big school craft fairs take Saturday daytime, at either end of the mall's busy stretch.

The Millard North Makers Market is on Saturday, October 17, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Millard North High School, 144th and Pacific. The Mustang Booster Club lists more than 180 vendors and describes the goods and concessions as 99% homemade. All profits go to Millard North student sports and activities.

The Millard West High School Fall Craft Fair is on Saturday, November 7, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 5710 S. 176th Ave. It lists more than 220 crafters. Adult admission is $4, and students get in free.

Both fairs take place on 144th Street or within a few miles of it. Taken with the mall dates, they make one continuous season of local shopping events. It starts at Millard North on October 17, runs through the mall from October 22 to 30, picks up at Millard West on November 7 and ends back at Oak View on November 28 and 29. According to a Family Fun in Omaha listing, Santa visits at the mall start November 29 and run through December 23. The listing says dates and times vary.

The Outdoor Options Narrowed This Fall

The indoor calendar matters more this year because some of Millard's usual outdoor spots are closed. The City of Omaha's September 2026 trail update lists the West Papio Trail between Millard Avenue and Westchester Park as temporarily closed. A storm-sewer problem caused a sinkhole, and the city has not set a completion date. The same update says Zorinsky Lake Park is closed until further notice because of flooding. The city calls these status updates and says closures will be lifted once flooding recedes, so check again before heading out.

Part of the neighborhood's food scene changed too. Little King's Millard location at 14005 Q Street has closed permanently after 38 years. Owners Bob and Janine Wertheim announced the closure on September 6, following the sale of the building. The shop opened in 1988, and six other Omaha-area Little King locations are still open.

A few new businesses opened nearby in the same period. Curry in a Hurry, a quick-serve Indian restaurant, opened a southwest Omaha location at 16919 Audrey Street, just west of Williamsburg Pizza. CK Sports Cardz opened in August at 14450 Meadows Blvd., near 144th and Giles, selling sports and trading cards, memorabilia and collectibles.

One planned project won't happen. The Old Millard Dairy Queen move to 13205 Millard Avenue was dropped. According to a February 2026 update, the owner is keeping the existing shop at 5071 S. 136th St. open, and the former gas-station site has been listed for sale.
